This is another angle from the Face-Off scene. It focuses on more of the mother's look. Her eyes distinctly looking at me... trusting me to be with her and her newborn. To witness this only inches away, felt alien to me. How could this mother be so trusting? I was humbled by it. Their beautiful textures, lines, and colors stood out far more than I had seen before. Captivating me.
The mother and calf swam so close to me. When the mother passed me, I watched as her pectoral fin came up. I knew I was in its path but had to trust she knew I was there. She turned it, last second... it brushed my fin as if she gave me a high five as a parting gift. How magnificent it felt to watch them swim, with mirrored movements of their tails and pectoral fins. The calf was watching. Learning.
One of my favorite moments, swimming parallel to these two magnificent beings. Kicking hard and trying to keep up, but was only able to for a short moment. Thankfully, this pair wanted to enjoy our company even more, and would circle back to be with us again
