Why Bimini?!

With pristine, sandy beaches, crystal-clear turquoise water, and an abundance of playful wildlife waiting for you just below the surface, it is truly paradise.

Bimini is a pair of beautiful islands in The Bahamas, located just 50 miles east of South Florida, making it easy to reach -- just a 25 minute flight. The island is divided into North and South Bimini: the North side is more lively and has resorts, a casino, and many local restaurants and bars, while the South island remains quieter and more laid-back, with less traffic and fewer amenities. Both sides offer their own rhythm and are beautiful places to relax and enjoy island life. We stay on the North side where we have easy & reliable access to everything we need, including the boat.

Bimini is a vital nursery habitat for marine life, with Atlantic spotted dolphins, bottlenose dolphins, southern stingrays, a wide variety of fish, and several shark species (including Caribbean reef, blacknose, nurse, bull, and baby lemon sharks calling these waters home during the summer months, and even more during the winter months [hammerhead & tiger sharks]).
Beyond its natural beauty, Bimini is shaped by a strong sense of culture and a community deeply connected to the sea.

We know these dolphins by name. This resident pod has been studied for decades, and many of the grandmothers and their offspring are individually known. Cassie has known her “dolphriends” for 8 years—watching them grow from football-sized babies into fearless juveniles who help defend the pod from pesky bottlenose dolphins.

Each dolphin has its own unique personality and behavior, much like humans. Many love engaging with us—we often see them playing patty-cake and peek-a-boo, spiraling and twirling down with us, and even inviting us to play their favorite game: the seaweed game (let's face it, it's our favorite game, too!).

Pictured above is Cassie's best dolphriend Starburst and her bff Comet; the pair is often seen together, bonding together by playing games and cuddling each other.

What will we see?

We will see a wide variety of marine life! Our primary focus will be scouting for Atlantic spotted dolphins, bottlenose dolphins, stingrays, Caribbean reef sharks, and sea turtles—along with any surprises the ocean wants to share with us.

**We are going to be in the open ocean with the possibility of seeing and swimming with WILD animals!! While we always hope for in-water interactions, it’s important to remember that these encounters are never guaranteed, and our interactions are always on their terms. Sometimes we may observe the wildlife from the boat rather than getting in the water, depending on their behavior and conditions.

How we get there:

We travel to Bimini via a privately chartered flight departing from Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport. In under 30 minutes, you’ll be landing in paradise.

Weight Restrictions

Because we are chartering a private plane, weight restrictions are enforced for safety reasons and are outside of our control. A few weeks prior to departure, you will be asked to provide your current, accurate body weight, as this allows us to plan seating arrangements, weight distribution on board, and determine how much baggage weight we can bring. *At this time, each guest can expect to bring approximately 35–50 pounds of gear, depending on overall passenger & aircraft weight.

Where we stay:

This air-conditioned, garden-view condo is located on North Bimini in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood -- just 2 blocks from pristine beaches and close to local restaurants.

The layout:

  • Three bedrooms

    • 1 bedroom has a king bed

    • 1 bedroom has a queen bed

    • 1 bedroom has two sets of bunk beds

  • Three full bathrooms

  • Two living rooms to relax and unwind

  • A full kitchen

  • A washer and dryer we use each evening

We also have access to a beautiful outdoor pool. While our days are largely spent on the ocean and we typically don't visit the pool, it offers a peaceful place to unwind if we return early, experience windy conditions, or have a brief delay with the boat.

The numbers & the boat:

Small groups

Our trips are intentionally kept small to allow for more meaningful, respectful in-water interactions with wildlife, which enhances your overall experience. We welcome a maximum of seven guests per expedition, with typically around ten people on board in total (including our captain and crew).

Depending on weather, logistics, and scouting needs, additional crew may join to provide extra eyes on the water while scouting for our dolphriends.

What to bring:

*Sun protection is essential! SPF clothing, sun glasses, hats, face buffs, ZINC sunscreen*

We are on a plane that is weight restricted, so packing light is essential; we cannot exceed the plane’s weight limit. Please bring only what you need—this is only a three day adventure and we will be in our swim gear most of the time. We have a washing machine in our accommodation to use every evening so rewearing items is easy!

  • Please bring your own mask, fins, and snorkel. Limited extras may be available through the boat charter, but personal gear is strongly recommended.

  • A Riffe Stable snorkel is highly recommended—this is Cassie’s number one piece of advice on what to bring.

  • Bringing your own weight belt is suggested, but please do not bring lead weight for it. We have weight on board, as well as a few spare belts if needed. We usually only use weight for when we snorkel with the stingrays.

  • Bring cash for tipping our crew, personal expenses, or any food & drinks outside of group meals.

  • A wetsuit is not needed. Summer conditions are warm, and a swimsuit or rash guard is perfect. Rash guard leggings, tops, or a full-body rash guard suit are ideal and commonly worn. Cassie wears a Slipins full body rash guard suit.

  • Cassie brings a towel poncho (from Ocean Armour) to wear in between morning & afternoon trips — it is handy to dry off with and you can change under it as well!

A more detailed packing list will be sent when you book, but please note ahead of time

*PLEASE bring a rain jacket. Bimini is a tropical place -- always just expect it to rain regardless of the forecast... it changes frequently, even by the hour. It is better to have protection and not need it, than not have protection and need it. Please trust Cassie on this and bring a rain jacket. Even though this is summer time in The Bahamas, you can get cold if it is windy, overcast, raining, or a combination of the above.

Who this trip is for:

Screenshot 2026-01-09 at 5.24.47 PM.png

This trip is designed for adventurers, bucket-listers, and true dream chasers.

There is no age limit; however, participants must be physically capable of swimming at least 100 meters, feel comfortable in the open ocean, and be able to climb a boat ladder in occasionally challenging conditions.

Children are welcome to join, but must be supervised by a family member at all times—both on the boat and in the water. Please let Cassie know the ages and current maturity level of any children so we can determine whether this trip will be a good fit.

Please note: we are typically on the water for about 7 hours total—3 hours in the morning, a 1–2 hour lunch break at the dock midday, then 4 more hours in the afternoon.

Please note: for safety reasons, all participants must be able to communicate fluently in English.

Our crew:

Our adventurous and highly experienced crew has either grown up in Bimini or lived there for many years, bringing extensive hands-on expertise and an intimate understanding of the local area and wildlife behavior. Cassie has known this team closely for over a decade, and has collaborated with them in the water with dolphins specifically for the past six years. While they may be famously shark-obsessed, all of Neal Watson's crew have a well-kept soft spot for our dolphriends.

None of these experiences would be possible without their patience, dedication, and hard work—we are endlessly grateful for the role they play in helping to make your dreams come true!

Cameras

Cameras:

  • Bringing a camera to capture photos and videos is not required, but it is highly recommended! We will experience truly incredible moments, and having images and videos to look back on for a lifetime is well worth it. Whether you choose to bring a full DSLR, an iPhone, a GoPro, DJI, Insta 360, or NOTHING! --All are more than welcome.

  • It is important to put the camera down and fully engage with the wildlife! We know pictures are important, but the eye to eye intimacy of these interactions are what make these experiences truly unforgettable.

  • Cassie will do her absolute best to capture photos and videos of all guests while interacting with the whales. That said, these moments can be fleeting—being in the right place at the right time is never guaranteed—but every effort will be made to capture meaningful memories of everyone in the water.

Important gear notes:
Bring fully charged batteries, extra batteries, and multiple SD cards.
• An external hard drive is highly recommended for storing photos and videos and having one makes it much easier to share content with others.

Drones:

  • Please understand that drones are permitted on the boat but may only be flown under specific conditions. It is often too windy to safely operate a drone, and flight opportunities may be limited.

  • Guests should also be prepared to occasionally skip a water entry while drones are being prepared or packed away.

  • Drone use will be discussed individually with Cassie prior to the trip.

  • For safety reasons, we ask that guests do not bring a drone if you are new to or inexperienced with flying one.

  • The last regulation was there can be no active swimmer in the water while flying drones in the vicinity of whales.
